“Factors Influencing Survival, Productivity, and Population Growth of Eastern Wild Turkeys in Northeastern South Dakota” - Dr. Chad Lehmann, Senior Wildlife Biologist SD GFP - The population of eastern wild turkeys in northeastern South Dakota appeared to be expanding soon after reintroduction in the 1990s, but recent harvest trends suggest declining abundance in the region. Updated information is needed to assess the status of the population of wild turkeys in northeastern SD and to determine the most effective management strategies for increasing abundance across the region—Benelli Room
 
“Landscaping for Wildlife” – Phil Hudson, James Valley Landscape Solutions-Phil will discuss how you can make your landscaping the most appealing to wildlife.  He will also be prepared to answer questions you may have about how to minimize the affect wildlife can have on your landscaping—Browning Room

“Major Donor Fundraising and How You Can Help.” – Steve Donovan, NWTF Director of Development, Midwest-West Region-Steve will discuss the NWTF Major Donor Program.  The program will include all aspects of identifying and cultivating potential major donors, developing “asks” and stewarding existing donors.  He will discuss various types of special “events” that can be instrumental in developing major donors. Steve will share how everyone can help the NWTF secure major gifts to support the “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt” initiative—Benelli Room   
 
“Out of the Box Walleye Tactics” – Paul Stark, Scheels & Lowrance Pro Staff and Fishing Guide-Paul will talk about techniques and methods you may not have heard about to find those elusive walleyes. He will also discuss his favorite fishing tactics & the latest in fishing technology—Browning Room

“District and National NWTF Conservation Update” – Jim Pitman, NWTF District Biologist, SD, KS & NE-Jim will update us on NWTF conservation activities in the district and nationally.  He will share how fundraising efforts support local and national NWTF conservation activities and review the status of several partner agreements, the associated goals and accomplishments.  Jim will discuss the application and award processes for the SD NWTF Hunting Heritage Super Fund and highlight some recently funded projects—Benelli Room
 
“Use of Force” Wayne Gregory, NRA & SDGFP HuntSafe Instructor—Wayne will discuss some ideas that you should consider when confronted by a situation that can easily escalate and become worse if you do not know how to deal with them.  You should always be aware of your surroundings and take responsibility for your own safety—Browning Room

“Sporting Ethics and Skills of Turkey Hunting” - John Cooper, Former Secretary SD Game Fish and Parks-Turkey hunting is steeped in tradition and heritage. Integral to the hunt are the skills and regulations, coupled with ethics, that make the hunt worthwhile and satisfying.  Coop examines these subjects in relation to what makes us "hunters" as opposed to "shooters" of wild turkeys—Benelli Room
